Shorty was a respected Warlpiri artist whose vibrant and distinctive paintings are celebrated for their fresh interpretation of traditional dreamings, including Water, Acacia, Emu, and Flying Ant. Despite missing the Central Desert art movement's early days, his work became renowned later in life, particularly after joining the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Association and holding his acclaimed first solo exhibition at Alcaston Gallery in 2003. Robertson's legacy endures through his artistic contributions both in Australia and internationally.
