Kudditji Kngwarreye, born c1925, passed away in 2017. He was celebrated for his colorful landscape paintings. He was a visionary artist whose work captured the spirit and essence of the Australian outback. His unique approach to art, blending traditional Indigenous techniques with contemporary styles, left definitely a significant mark on the art world.

Like his half-sister Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Kudditji has taken his place as one of Australia's foremost indigenous artists.

Kudditji had a traditional bush upbringing and worked as a stockman and mine worker for many years. He was also a traditional custodian of many important Dreamings, of the land and of Men’s Business as well as ceremonial sites located in his country at Utopia Station, about 230 km north east of Alice Springs.
